DARK NIGHTS

From the end of October when the nights are long we are lucky enough to experience a wonderful show of the Aurora Borealis ( Northern Lights ) – a magical sight, you can link to an App that gives alerts as to when they may be visible. With very little light pollution the night sky is a glorious sight to behold even when the Northern Lights are reluctant to show!

LIFE STYLE

The majestic Highlands offers many adventures, from Paddle Boating and water sports to Munro Bagging, walking, bird spotting, photography and Mountain climbing. Both Gairloch and Ullapool offer amazing boat trips – you can book on line by following the links – The mountain range of An Teallach offers a challenging climb all year round however the hotel is a handy place to stay for 26 Munros close by. The hotel is also a sanctuary of peace and relaxation, situated at the foot of An Teallach and on the shores of Little Loch Broom

Within easy driving distance there are fabulous beaches, coves and bays – for the brave wild swimming is an exhilarating experience. Paddle boarding at Melon Udrigal or Gruiniard Bay is just fantastic. We are lucky to have some fabulous waterfalls close by too with stunning views.

In Autumn when the dark nights are with us you may be lucky enough to see the Northern Lights, the hotel is part of a group that gets alerts for when auroras may be visible so we can always keep  you updated.

You may spot sea eagles, golden eagles, dolphins, seals, deer, feral goats and of course a lot of sheep! So much to see and experience. Fishing is available on the local Estates by prior arrangement with them – fishing permits are available in Ullapool for other areas.
